Efficient protection against biological growth of organisms
Mounted units for offshore installations
Sanilec® systems are skid-mounted units designed to meet demanding area classification requirements in offshore installations.
In situ sodium hypochlorite generation
These systems use a proven electrochemical process to generate sodium hypochlorite from seawater. This technology is ideal for controlling biological growth in spray water systems used in fire situations, as well as in cooling and fire protection systems.
Benefits without undesirable side effects
In situ generation of sodium hypochlorite is an economical and safe method for producing this potent biocide and disinfectant agent in offshore marine applications.
When injected into the cooling water circuits, the sodium hypochlorite solution generated on site provides efficient protection to the equipment against the biological growth of organisms such as algae, snails, etc.
This is achieved without experiencing the undesirable side effects associated with the use of commercial sodium hypochlorite, such as the accumulation of hard deposits due to the reaction of excessive alkalinity with dissolved substances in the water. In addition, the risk associated with the transport, storage and handling of chlorine gas is eliminated.
Versatile capacity for various installations
Sanilec® systems range in capacity from 1.2 to 21,600 kg/day, making them suitable for a wide range of offshore installations requiring biological growth control in cooling or seawater protection systems.
Different uses
- Offshore oil and gas facilities.
- Marine in general.
- Naval around the world.
